What To Expect AT AOG 2023
AOG 2023 has a clear mission to stimulate economic growth in Angola. The plan centres around:
boosting production
enhancing local participation
refining capacity
enabling a fair transition to natural gas and alternative energy sources
increasing energy access
AOG 2023 will serve as a platform for collaboration between business executives and government leaders. It aims to not only promote investment and deal-making in the regional energy value chains and technologies but also support projects that facilitate a smooth and fair energy transition in Angola (Angolaoilandgas, 2023).
So, What Makes Angola Stand Out?
With a population of over 35 million, the oil-rich country is a significant player in Africa.
Angola has an annual GDP growth rate of 3% (World Bank, 2022). Its economic potential, especially in trade and investment, has earned it the status of one of Africa's "lion economies".
The country is addressing the lack of jobs for its young and growing workforce. In collaboration with the World Bank, the government is creating favourable business conditions for small and medium-sized businesses by promoting economic diversification, private investment, and job creation (World Bank, 2023).
